Other EIGRP Features:

Lessons Learned:

Miscellaneous EIGRP Features:
--next hop self
--Maximum prefix
--Bandwidth pacing
--Default Metric
--Neighbor Logging
--Metric holddown
--Maximum ops
==========================
Command Reference

Next hop self
command can be used on a mulitpoint interface – much like a Frame Relay hub and spoke or DMVPN Network. Where a route is advertised from the spoke up to the hub, when the Hub contiues to pass the route on it can set the next hop to itself.
Interface level command.
# Ip eigrp (AS) next-hop self

Bandwidth pacing –
Will limmit the amount of eigrp control plane bandwidth that can be used on a per link basis. By defualt with EIGRP the amount is 50% of the link bandwidth. This will really only matter on very low speed links. Channelized T1.

Maximum hops –

Maximum number of hops that you can have in the topology. This would be used to prevent the count to infinity problem like RIP has. Usually DUAL will corret this bacsed of the feasibitly condition. You can however limit the size of the EIGRP domain by using the number of hops, etc.
